Week 2

It is Monday, and so far, its been pretty uneventful! I had a lecture in English about the importance of thesis statements, and as I sit in math learning about multiplying and dividing real numbers, I listen to “Vienna” by Billy Joel. I really love this song, it makes me feel as if there is nothing to worry about.

I have my gender and sexuality class tomorrow along with sociology. College is actually so scary because it asks questions that you may not have ever asked yourself. I really don’t know what I wanna do when I’m older, and I think thats okay. I love art, and I think I always will but I feel as if I have other things to offer the world. Criminology is very interesting to me, ever since I was little and would watch CSI with my mom. I also am very vocal in my political views and have always thought about what it would be like making a difference in the political world for others. I have always been the type of person to stand up for the underdog. Living in this world isn’t easy, and there are people out there that like to make it harder for you.

Tuesday was a shitty day. As I walked into my Gender and Sexuality class I receive a text from my younger brother that we had to put my cat Anubis down. He was with our family for at least 10 years and unfortunately he was suffering. I kept it together during class because I was still in shock. I then stayed after to talk with my professor and explain some stuff that has been going on and help her better understand me. It was really nice to talk to someone and start to have a professor that I feel comfortable with.

Later that day I had sociology which is also so fascinating. My professor is from Minneapolis so she is very cool, she clearly loves what she does. I also talked to her about some struggles I have and it was nice to chat with her for a bit because I really feel like I can connect with her. I’m excited to see what this class is all about.

It is now Friday and you can definitely say I am excited for the weekend. It has been a really long week and honestly I am ready for it to be over. I enjoy my classes for the most part, the only thing that is hard is the heat so its hard to get comfortable and walk around. I’m very glad its Friday and I am hoping that this weekend is fun.

Sincerely yours,
